Life Drawing with Ipad

image

I enjoy the convienience of doing Life Drawing on the IPad, and have less paper to store. I can still get the work completed in a similar time frame, 1 hour.

I like this cool pose with a hat and sun glasses! Even more fun, done on the IPad. It is a slick way to do life drawing! Saves paper too. 🙂

Figures from Life

I decided to give watercolor a try this time. I think after more practice this will be a good way to go. It was faster than usual.

Ipad Life Drawing

I think using the IPad for Life Drawing works well. I was able to get the figure done in the 1.5 hour session, and I did the chair and background at home.

I used the Art Set Pro app on the ipad, because it behaves very close to natural media. I like the color pencil for drawing, and for coloring and shading I like the oil pastel, and paint. I manipulated it with the eraser, rag and water tools. I used a Wacom Bamboo Stylus.

IPad Life Drawings

I decided to try using the IPad at our Life Drawing Group. I haven’t used the IPad there since I had my first Ipad 1, when it came out. You have to change it up a bit once in a while.

Tonight’s Life Drawing

We had our model in a good costume this evening. I enjoyed drawing some drapery for a change of pace. 12″x16″ hard pastel on warm gray Canson pastel paper.

Another Night of Life Drawing

I have been creating larger life drawings, I’ve always preferred larger scale. This is 18″x24″ on Tan Strathmore paper with oil pastel. I like to use oil pastel now because it’s not as fragile as soft pastel, and I’m doing them in sketch book form.
