Now for something completely different! This is a pencil test for “Penguins Can’t Fly” without the ending. Some of the pauses will be longer than they are now. It will be entered in the SoDak Animation Festival. Animation created solely on the Ipad.
Another Night of Life Drawing
I have been creating larger life drawings, I’ve always preferred larger scale. This is 18″x24″ on Tan Strathmore paper with oil pastel. I like to use oil pastel now because it’s not as fragile as soft pastel, and I’m doing them in sketch book form.

I don’t usually choose a viewing angle from behind the model. I ought to do so more often.
Study for Mural of Heaven WIP
This is a study for a mural of heaven, I’m painting for St. Thomas More Parish. The mural will be painted with acrylics 8.5’x 24.5′. The study is 8.5″x 24″. I will be posting more images as it progresses. I’m considering recording a time lapse of the mural being painted.

Female Life Drawing
Our model turns 21. We haven’t had a female model available for awhile. I liked this lighting and pose. This color paper works well. I will stick with it when I can.
Poor Froggy
No frogs were injured in the making of this animation. I enjoyed sketching this one, and recording the sound. Can you guess how I made the last sound?

Last Night’s Life Drawing
I liked this pose and I’m happy with how we set up the lighting. I like working with hard pastel for life drawing. 11×16″
Palette Knife Painting
Playing with acrylic on a palette knife, and painting what landscape I see in my head. I’m getting adjusted to the feel of it! It’s great fun! I’m going to experiment with oils and palette knife soon and compare the results. 8×10″ canvas, landscape painted around the edges.
Evening Life Drawing
Drawing hands and feet has gotten easier. Drawing the bottom of feet is more interesting.
